2013 Jackrabbit Skills Volleyball Camp - Resident

Skills Camp will provide instruction to enhance the fundamentals of every basic volleyball skill. While all campers will have the opportunity to work on each skill, there will also be sessions meant to improve campers based on position. Liberos will learn the basics of serve receive and back row defense. Hitters will be taught position-specific arm swing and footwork mechanics as well as blocking technique. Setters will learn basic footwork, various types of sets, and how to run an offense. Camp will conclude with a tournament competition! Campers will also receive a t-shirt, water bottle and an SDSU Jackrabbits Gift!

Skills Camp – July 15^th-17^th (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)

Check-in: Monday, July 15^th – 1:00-2:00pm

Camp Sessions:

Monday – 2:00-4:30pm, 6:00-8:00pm

Tuesday – 9:30am-Noon, 2:00-4:30pm, 6:00-8:00pm

Wednesday – 9:30am-Noon, 1:30-4:00pm

For campers entering grades 7-12

Cost: Resident - $325 including housing and meals (Air conditioned dorms) (A 7.5% sales tax is included in the camp fee.)

What should I bring? All campers should bring the following: court shoes, shorts, t-shirts, socks and knee pads (if desired). In addition, resident campers should bring a fan, towel and personal toiletries.

What is the player to coach ratio? At minimum we will have at least 1 coach for every 8 campers.

Are the dorms air conditioned? YES! New this year, ALL camps will be in air conditioned dorms.

South Dakota State University Volleyball Camps are geared toward improving the skills of players at various levels from grades 2-12. Camps provide opportunities for players to experience the excitement surrounding the Jackrabbit Volleyball program. Jackrabbit Volleyball Camps give athletes the tools necessary to become a more complete volleyball player. Our coaching staff and players work with players, from beginners to elite level, in a competitive and fun environment and provide the opportunity to take your skills to the next level. The competitive camp structure is designed to instruct, motivate, and challenge you and help prepare you for your upcoming season and beyond.
