The South Dakota State Camp Championships is designed for team building, dual meets, individual matches and tournament preparation, allowing each athlete the opportunity to wrestle between 10-15 matches during the camp. During the competition, we will teach wrestlers how to mentally and physically prepare themselves for competition at the highest level. We kick off the first day with a technique session, followed by a takedown tournament in the evening. The following day we will have another technique session, followed by a full day of individual tournaments. We will help wrestlers develop a routine on how to prepare for a tournament. The following days we will end with our dual competition. This will allow us to identify problem areas for the individual or the team, and develop team-specific plans to enhance overall team performance. We recommend that wrestlers are entering grades 9-12. Advanced middle school wrestler attendance is at the discretion of the team coach/team leader. Wrestlers can also attend this competition on their own and will be assigned a team.
Wrestlers can also attend this camp on their own. They will be assigned a team. In the past the Jackrabbit wrestling camps have had teams from eight different states and we are working towards regaining a high level team camp.
