Marvin Menzies "Little Aggie" Basketball Camp WHO - Boys & Girls (K - 8th Grade) WHEN - June 23 -27 TIMES - June 23 - 26 - 9am - 3pm June 27 - 9am - 12pm Cost - $150 (Early drop is available between the hours of 8am & 8:45am for an additional fee of $25) Coach Marvin Menzies invites you to participate in his basketball camp to be held the week of June 23-27, 2014. Each camper will have the opportunity to learn from Coach Menzies, who has over 30 years of basketball experience. Coach Menzies has demonstrated the leadership in leading his men’s basketball program to becoming a national powerhouse. In his seven seasons with the Aggies, Menzies has led NM State to three straight WAC Championships (fourth overall) and four NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2013-2014, he led the Aggie program to 25 wins and another NCAA appearance. Coach Menzies’ dedication to teaching the game will produce results in campers regardless of experience and skill level. - Campers will be dropped off at the New Mexico State practice facility. Monday thru Thursday camp will be dismissed from the practice facility.
- Parents must sign their children in and out of camp. If a camper is going home with another camper the camp must be notified by the parent of the child. The child is not permitted to go with someone without consent of the parent.
- On the last day of camp, an informal awards ceremony will be held to honor the campers’ efforts throughout the week. Every camper will receive a T-shirt.
- On Friday, camp will end at 12:15 pm. Camp will be dismissed from the Pan Am Center. There will be an awards ceremony and a photo taken.
- Campers can expect to interact with several camp staff members throughout the week. Several of Coach Menzies players will be on hand to provide demonstrations that will aide in their development as well as teaming up with the campers for games.
- The camp will provide sessions that will include ball handling, shooting, defensive skill training and above all, teamwork. In the afternoon games will be played. Competitions will occur and contests will take place.
- You can expect members of Coach Menzies staff to take part in various speaking engagements on what it takes to improve your overall game to be ready to play at the next level.
- At the end of the camp, campers will be able to have a chance to get autographs from several of their favorite players.
- Coach Menzies’ camp will be packed with fun, skill development while providing a positive atmosphere for all to enjoy.
This camp is not an official function of New Mexico State University. Camp is open to all entrants limited only by number, grade level and/or gender. |
