Coach Paul Weir invites you to participate in his basketball camp to be held June 19-22. Each camper will have the opportunity to learn from Coach Weir and the NMSU players and staff. Coach Weir became the 25th head men's basketball coach at New Mexico State on April 26, 2016, after spending nine seasons as an assistant coach, including five seasons as the associate head coach, for the Aggies. He coached NM State to five WAC Tournament Championships (2010, 2012-2015) and five subsequent NCAA Tournament appearances. The Aggies collected three WAC Championships during Weir's tenure, including back to back WAC regular-season titles in 2015 and 2016 to go along with their first WAC regular-season title in 2008. Overall, NM State has claimed seven WAC titles during his nine years with the program. - Campers will be dropped off at the New Mexico State practice facility. Monday thru Thursday camp will be dismissed from the practice facility.
- Parents must sign their children in and out of camp. If a camper is going home with another camper the camp must be notified by the parent of the child. The child is not permitted to go with someone without the consent of the parent.
- On the last day of camp, an informal awards ceremony will be held to honor the campers' efforts throughout the week. Every camper will receive a T-shirt.
- Campers can expect to interact with several camp staff members throughout the week. Several of Coach Weir's players will be on hand to provide demonstrations that will aide in their development as well as teaming up with the campers for their games.
- The camp will provide sessions that will include ball handling, shooting, defense skill training and above all, teamwork. Games will be played, competitions will occur, and contests will take place.
- You can expect members of Coach Weir's staff to take part in various speaking engagements on what it takes to improve your overall game to be ready to play at the next level.
- At the end of camp, campers will be able to have a chance to get autographs from several of their favorite players.
- Coach Weirs' camp will be packed with fun, skill development while providing a positive atmosphere for all to enjoy.
