Dick Johnson is the boy's tennis coach at La Cueva High School. They have won the state title 17 out of the last 21 years. His 32-year coaching record is 378-58. He has been SWPTA Coach of the year 5 times, a USTA Southwest Section hall of fame member-2008, USPTA National High School Coach of the year-2016, New Mexico High School Coach of the Year-2017, National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) Coach of the Year- 2021. He was elected to the USPTA Southwest Hall of Fame in 2022. Coach Johnson is the all-time winningest high school team coach in NM with 11 wins. Over 2,000 youngsters have been a part of Coach Johnson's programs at La Cueva over the past 20 years.
