Dates: 8/20 & 8/21/2026 Times: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm Location: Southington High School, 720 Pleasant Street, Southington, CT 06489 We would like to invite you to our inaugural Blue Knight Volleyball Play and Prep Sessions for incoming 7th through 9th-grade students. These sessions will be held August 20th & August 21st, 2026 at Southington High School. Southington's varsity coach, Richard Heitz, will host and direct the sessions. Coach Heitz has previously been recognized as the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Coach of the Year for Girls' Volleyball, a National High School Coach of the Year Finalist, the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association Region I (representing NY, CT, NH, ME, NH, VT, MA and RI) Coach of the Year and is an inductee into the Connecticut Volleyball Hall of Fame.
The Blue Knight Volleyball Play and Prep Sessions will be focused more along the lines of a structured game-like play and competition series designed to develop volleyball skills through game-like repetition (with some limited corrective suggestion and reinforcement of skills).
The sessions are designed to help prep incoming 7th - 9th graders for their 2026 school tryouts, by getting some repetitions and game like play/drills. Included in the Play and Prep sessions are discussions on how to survive a try-out, what to often expect, what to do to help separate yourself from others, and other intangibles.The things that stick out and learn how to sometimes bring light (both positive and negative) on oneself.
The "gym session" will be for 5 hours on Thursday and Friday, and we will break for an approximately half-hour lunch each day. Each participant will receive a Volleyball T-Shirt as well.
We have very limited gym space and want all campers to have room to participate, so we are restricted in the number of campers we can accept.

Refund Policy
A $20.00 nonrefundable fee will be assessed for each registration. There will be no refunds after August 6, 2026. Please email Coach Heitz at coachheitz@cox.net if you are requesting a refund.
